Cagan Irmak
Çagan Irmak was born in 1970 in Izmir. He got his college
degree from the Radio-Television Department of Ege University. He received
Sedat Simavi awards for two short films he directed during school: Masal
(Story) and Kurban (Victim). After 1992 he
worked as an assistant director for Orhan Oguz, Mahinur Ergun, Filiz Kaynak
and Yusuf Kurçenli. In 1998 Irmak received the IFSAK first place award
for this short film Bana Old And Wisei Çal (Play Me Old
and Wise). In 2001 he wrote and directed his first feature film,
Bana Sans Dile (Wish Me Luck). His career blossomed
with the TV series Asmali Konak (The Ivy Mansion). Today
with his unique style, Çagan Irmak has proven himself as a young and successful
director in Turkey. |
